Job Title: Support Worker\nLocation: Wakefield, WF1 2QN\nPay rate: £13.99 weekdays / £14.53 weekends\nJob Type: Permanent – Part Time (33 Hours Per Week)\nShift Pattern:\n\n11-hour day shifts\n10:00am – 9:00pm\nMixture of weekdays and weekends\nFixed monthly rota (typically 3 shifts per week)Must:\n\nDrive (Full UK Licence)\nConfident driving a wheelchair accessible automatic vanPriority Recruitment are excited to present this rewarding opportunity for an experienced Support Worker in the Wakefield area.\n This is an incredibly rewarding long-term opportunity supporting a gentleman with complex physical and health needs within his own home and out in the community.\n We are looking for compassionate, reliable and physically fit Support Workers who are passionate about providing high-quality one-to-one support and helping individuals live safely and comfortably while accessing meaningful activities and routines.\n Salary & Benefits:\n\n£13.99 per hour weekdays\n£14.53 per hour weekends\nPermanent contracted hours\nFixed rota and consistent shifts\nDedicated learning and development support\nAccess to a wide range of free online courses\nRefer a friend scheme – earn up to £500 per referralCompany and Role:\n\nSupporting a 30-year-old gentleman within his own home and the community\nSupporting a client living with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and Type 1 diabetes\nProviding full personal care and daily living support\nSupporting with feeding, therapy programmes and leisure activities\nSupporting with medication administration and insulin management\nDriving the client’s wheelchair accessible vehicle for activities and appointments\nWorking as part of an established and supportive care teamThe client is wheelchair dependent and requires hoisting for all transfers. He has no verbal communication and limited understanding of the world around him, so Support Workers must be patient, observant and confident in supporting complex communication needs.\n The client enjoys routine, familiar support and engaging activities within the home and community.\n Day-to-Day Responsibilities:\n\nProviding personal care and support with all daily living activities\nSupporting with feeding and safe mealtime management\nAdministering medication and supporting with insulin management\nSupporting with epilepsy management and monitoring wellbeing\nSupporting with bathing, dressing and bedtime routines\nTaking the client shopping or to leisure activities\nCompleting accurate care documentation\nPromoting dignity, comfort and person-centred support at all timesSuccessful Applicant:\n\nExperience supporting adults with complex care needs\nConfident with personal care and hoisting\nExperience supporting epilepsy and/or diabetes management preferred\nComfortable supporting clients with limited communication\nPhysically fit and confident pushing a wheelchair\nCalm, patient and compassionate approach\nExcellent spoken English\nReliable and committed to long-term support\nFull UK driving licence essentialTraining Required:\n\nHoist training\nMedication administration\nEpilepsy awareness\nSafeguarding\nManual handling(Training can be provided for the right candidate.)\n If you’re an experienced Support Worker looking for a rewarding long-term opportunity where you can genuinely make a difference to somebody’s life, we would love to hear from you.\n Apply now for more details.\n *Some of our roles require drivers and male or female employees only.
